This holiday is per person, includes scheduled direct flights to Los Angeles and return from San Francisco and based on two people sharing, 13 nights room only basis accommodation with four continental breakfasts included in three and four star hotels, services of a Tour Manager, guided city tours of Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco, all National Park/tour entrance fees as mentioned. Single rooms are subject to availability at the relevant supplement (date dependant).
On this tour see amazing landscapes of the deserts, lush forests, unique cities and learn more about the native American history. At Bryce Canyon you can experience a labyrinth of deep gullies made up of pinnacles, spires and pink-hued rock. Some of the wildlife you may see whilst visiting these parks could include black bears at Yosemite and at Bryce – chipmunks and possibly at high altitudes rare mountain lions or there may be vultures soaring over the canyons. You will definitely have lots of beautiful and awesome photographs to take home with you.
There are guided tours to San Francisco with its iconic wooden cable cars, restored Victorian houses and of course the Golden Gate Bridge. At San Diego you will find cultural attractions and surfing beaches, at Los Angeles – Hollywood, Beverley Hills, Sunset Strip and Santa Monica Beach, Las Vegas – bright lights and entertainment whilst experiencing the beauty and serenity of Bryce Canyon, Yosemite, Zion National Park and the Grand Canyon. Also visiting the Monument Valley to see the sights of many of the classic ‘westerns’.
You arrive at London Heathrow airport to board your flight to Los Angeles and then transfer to the four-star Hilton Los Angeles Airport Hotel for one night.
In the morning you travel to Beverly Hills, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Sunset Strip, Santa Monica and Venice beach. During the afternoon you head towards San Diego, staying two nights at the three-star Best Western Plus Bayside Inn which is close to the waterfront and the city’s ‘Little Italy’ quarter with its many restaurants and cafés.
San Diego is set around a sweeping bay and lots of white sandy beaches. It is the classic Southern California city. After a morning city tour, you have a free afternoon to explore San Diego’s attractions. Perhaps a trip to the Maritime Museum with many historical ships to see or visit Midway, America’s longest serving aircraft carrier with a tour of three decks and 35 types of aircraft. You could go to Balboa Park with 15 museums set in a sub-tropical garden or the world famous San Diego Zoo.
You will be going towards Phoenix, Arizona and climb 4,000 ft past the Cleveland National Forest and into the Mojave Desert, cross the Colorado River at Yuma with one night in the Hampton Inn Happy Valley.
You will leave Phoenix through the Sonora Desert, Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon and towards the Grand Canyon.
The first sight of the Grand Canyon is truly a sight to behold. The majestic scale of the canyon will stay with you for ever. You will visit some of the best viewing points and stay in the Best Western Premier Grand Canyon Squire Inn.
In the morning you can take an optional helicopter flight to view the Grand Canyon from above. After the flight you visit the Desert View Watchtower for your last look at the Canyon and the Colorado River before crossing the Painted Desert towards Monument Valley. You have the option of a guided 4×4 tour of the Valley by a local Navajo Indian. Your stay tonight is at the three star Monument Valley Inn.
You arrive at Bryce Canyon National Park after climbing 8,000 ft and crossing the Mormon state of Utah. Bryce Canyon offers delicate rock pinnacles on a multi coloured landscape that appears fragile. You will stay a mile from the park in the three star Best Western Ruby’s Inn.
ZION NATIONAL PARK
This morning you will arrive at Zion National Park which has huge cliffs and gorges and petrified sand dunes. You will experience the view from the bottom of the canyon and then leaving Zion you head for Las Vegas for your two night stay in the Tropicana Resort and Casino on the Vegas ‘strip’. There is an optional Vegas by Night Tour.
Free day – Optional helicopter flight to the Grand Canyon or take in a show or visit the many hotels on the Strip
You depart Las Vegas going through the mountainous region of Sierra Nevada passing through the plains of the San Joaquin Valley. That evening you will be staying at the Yosemite Southgate Hotel in Oakhurst near the Yosemite National Park.
You will go through the lush Yosemite Valley surrounded by the sheer granite cliffs towering over 4,000 ft. Also you will see the highest waterfalls in North America. Staying overnight in the Best Western Plus Sonora Oaks.
In the morning there is a guided tour of the city where you will see Fisherman’s Wharf, Lombard Street, Nob Hill and Union Square. After this tour you are free to visit some of the many attractions that San Francisco has to offer.
For the next two nights you will stay at the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway Hotel.
FREE DAY IN SAN FRANCISCO
Your final day is free for you to enjoy San Francisco at your leisure.
How about visiting Pier 39, Alcatraz Island or a scenic harbour cruise under the Golden Gate Bridge.
You have the morning to do your gift shopping and then your flight departs in the afternoon.
